What a Day Looks Like
Every morning starts with a quick stand‑up in our shared lab space – we talk about the day’s experiments, troubleshoot together and decide on priorities. The lab is a mix of modern glass‑fronted benches and rugged stainless steel workstations. You’ll be handling everything from PCR setup to small‑scale bioreactor runs, under the guidance of our Senior Scientists.
Team Culture
We’re a tight‑knit crew of 30 people, all of whom believe in “open science.” Ideas flow freely in our weekly “Brainwave” sessions, and no one is too junior to suggest a protocol tweak. We celebrate small wins – a successful batch, an instrument upgrade, or a paper acceptance – with a potluck lunch or a spontaneous ice‑cream truck surprise.
Growth Opportunities
We invest in your learning. Two hours a week are earmarked for technical workshops, online courses or conferences. If you show promise in project leadership, you might lead a small sub‑team by your second year. And, as we expand into new markets, there will be chances to roll out field trials or manage cross‑regional collaborations.
Core Responsibilities
- Experiment Design: Work with the R&D head to define objectives – e.g., optimizing yeast fermentation for bio‑ethanol production.
- Data Analysis: Record raw data in ELN, perform statistical analysis with Python scripts, and prepare concise reports for weekly reviews.
- Equipment Maintenance: Routine checks on centrifuges, spectrophotometers and bioreactors; schedule maintenance with external vendors.
- Documentation: Draft SOPs, batch records and safety protocols compliant with cGMP guidelines.
- Collaborations: Coordinate with the local agritech partner for raw‑material supply and with external regulatory bodies for approvals.
Tools & Equipment
You’ll be working in a climate‑controlled lab equipped with modern ELN software, LIMS, a 1 L inline bioreactor, real‑time PCR machines, a high‑speed centrifuge and a 3‑axis micro‑robotic liquid handler. We provide safety gear, lab coats and personal protective equipment.
Work Environment
Our office is located on the level‑five floor of the Sarai Patel Complex in Gurugram. It’s a calm, open‑plan office with a small library, a quiet corner for coffee or a quick walk, and a dedicated break area. The lab is adjacent, with a direct walk‑in from the reception.
