We at Himalayan Logistics Pvt Ltd are looking for a Planning Executive to join our team in Ranikhet. Our office is a cozy 200 sq ft space in the heart of the town, with a small kitchen, a few desks, and a big whiteboard that gets filled with routes every morning. We work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but the real action starts when the trucks leave the depot at 7:30 AM.
Day‑to‑day, you will be the brain behind our daily dispatches. You will map out the most efficient routes for our 15 trucks, check traffic updates, and coordinate with drivers who live in nearby villages. For example, if a road is closed due to a landslide, you will quickly reroute the trucks and inform the drivers via WhatsApp. You will also keep a log of fuel consumption and suggest ways to cut costs.
Team culture here is simple and friendly. We have a weekly “coffee break” where everyone shares a cup of masala chai and talks about the day. We value punctuality, honesty, and a willingness to learn. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, the Driver Coordinator, and the Finance Officer. Growth opportunities are real. After 6 months, you can move into a Senior Planning role or even help design our new mobile app for route planning. We also offer training in advanced Excel, GIS mapping, and basic logistics management. The company is expanding to nearby towns, so there will be chances to lead a small team.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning daily routes for 15 trucks.
- Monitoring traffic and weather updates.
- Communicating changes to drivers via WhatsApp or phone.
- Maintaining a log of fuel usage and vehicle maintenance.
- Assisting in monthly performance reports.
- Collaborating with the Finance team to track delivery costs.
Tools and equipment you will use are:
- Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
- Google Maps and Waze for real‑time traffic.
- WhatsApp Business for driver communication.
- Basic GPS device in each truck.
- Company laptop with VPN access.
Environment: The office is a small, open‑plan space with a few desks and a whiteboard. The trucks are parked in a small yard outside the office. You will spend most of your time in the office, but you will also visit the trucks and sometimes drive a short distance to meet drivers in nearby villages.
