What a typical day looks like
Every morning, we gather at our community corner to plan the day. A quick check‑in informs us which clients need feeding, a walk, or a cuddle session. You’ll often start with a vet’s recommended feeding plan: a bowl of wet food at 8 am, a short walk to the park around 9 30 am, and a mid‑day check‑in with a quick water refill before heading back home by 5 pm.

We’re a close‑knit team of 4–5 people who share a love for animals and a strong sense of community. Lunches are a potluck affair – everyone brings a dish to share. We spend weekends volunteering at local shelters, reinforcing the strong “give‑back” ethos that defines us. Your voice matters: ideas to improve pet nutrition, safety protocols, or client communication strategies are always heard.
Scope for growth
Starting as a pet sitter gives you the platform to learn about various breeds, keep up with the latest pet‑care trends, and receive continuous on‑the‑job training. As you build trust with clients, you’ll be eligible to take on senior responsibilities: manage a small team of junior sitters, conduct basic in‑house pet grooming, or run “Pet Care 101” workshops for families. Many of our current team members now run their own micro‑branches in nearby towns.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities (with real examples)
- Feed and hydrate dogs and cats according to individualized schedules (e.g., feeding Buddy the Labrador twice a day).
- Walk dogs in the early morning or late evening, ensuring safety with leashes and harnesses.
- Administer scheduled medications – remember to give Gopi the once‑daily antibiotic.
- Maintain clean feeding areas and litter boxes; swap out litter in cat homes.
- Log daily observations in a client portal (e.g., recording improvement in Tilly the Persian’s appetite).
- Respond to client queries via WhatsApp or a quick phone call with timely updates.
Tools & equipment
We supply a curated kit for each sitter: a small first‑aid pouch, a measured food dispensing spoon, a set of leashes, a reusable water bottle, and a mobile check‑in app. Most tasks are done in‑home, but occasional field visits to the local park or the village bend are part of the job.
Environment
Work is primarily on the client’s doorstep. Each pet’s home is treated as your own workspace – you bring the courtesy, the care, and the clean kit. No central office, so you can enjoy the fresh air and still be part of a supportive, community‑based team.
