- Order Picking: Pull items for orders, assemble them on pallet jacks, and ensure they match the packing slips. You’ll use the handheld scanner that reads one digit at a time.
- Loading & Dispatch: Load trucks following safety guidelines. We practice a ‘load‑balance’ rule that keeps trucks stable and reduces damage.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct weekly cycle counts to spot shrinkage. We often do this in a 15‑minute window where you’d spot‑count a random 10 items.
- Warehouse Hygiene & Safety: Clean aisles, mark spill areas with bright strips, and keep fire extinguishers accessible.
Tools and equipment you’ll be working with include:
- Pallet jacks, electric pallet trucks, and manual pallet jacks.
- Forklift chassis for heavier loads (only for trained staff).
- Handheld barcode scanners with battery backup.
- Software application “WMS XPS†for inventory tracking (we train you to use it).
- Safety kit: gloves, helmets, high‑visibility jackets.
