What a typical day looks like:
Morning greetings with the sun over the lagoon at 7:30 am. The day starts with a quick stand‑up meeting in our cozy conference room – a 12‑seat space where ideas flow freely. We review the latest policy updates, assign caseloads, and share quick wins from the previous day. By 9 am you’ll be in your own desk, confidently chatting with a client over a cup of hot chai, or drafting a tax plan on a laptop loaded with MS Office, QuickBooks, and our in‑house spreadsheet templates.
Team culture:
Our team of eight consists of 3 senior tax experts, 2 mid‑level officers, and 1 junior assistant. We hold “Tax Talk Tuesdays” – informal sessions where anyone can present a recent case, the challenges faced, and the solution adopted. In your first 6 months you’ll master the state’s unique tax framework and learn hands‑on counseling for fishermen’s income tax, small business GST, and personal inheritance. By year one, you’ll shadow our senior officers in complex audits and begin to manage small client portfolios independently. After two years, you’ll become a lead advisor, oversee compliance onboarding for new firms, and guide junior staff. Continuous professional development is part of our ethos – we fund courses, national seminars, and even sponsor a certified tax consultant (CTA) exam.
Responsibilities in action:
• Conducting quarterly tax workshops for local fishermen’s cooperatives, ensuring they understand allowable deductions for boat maintenance.
• Preparing GST returns for a mid‑size hospitality venture, reconciling invoices collected from the local tourist resort.
• Conducting audits of small agricultural enterprises, identifying tax saving opportunities for household cash and non‑cash expenses.
• Assisting families with estate planning, handling death duty and inheritance tax issues with compassion and precision.
Tools & equipment:
• Laptop (Windows or Mac) with MS Office 365, QuickBooks Online, and a secure VPN.
• Access to the latest local tax laws via our in‑house portal.
• Work smartphone for client calls and quick updates.
