We are a local traffic management team at Ladakh Roadways Pvt. Ltd., based in the bustling town of Kargil. Our mission is simple: keep the roads safe and smooth for commuters, traders and tourists who pass through this high‑altitude region. Day‑to‑day, you will be stationed at key junctions on the National Highway 1A and the main market road. You’ll use a handheld radio, a traffic light control panel and a small set of cones and signs to direct vehicles and pedestrians. We provide all the gear – a sturdy helmet, reflective vest, a portable traffic light unit and a basic first‑aid kit. You’ll also get a short training session on local traffic rules and emergency response.
Our team is small – about 12 people – but we work like a family. We meet every Monday morning for a quick briefing, share stories from the previous week and plan the next day’s routes. We celebrate small wins, like a smooth traffic flow during the annual Ladakh Festival, and we support each other during the harsh winter months when roads can be icy.
Growth opportunities are real. After six months of experience, you can move into a senior traffic controller role, oversee a team of two or three, and help design new traffic patterns for the expanding town. We also offer cross‑training in basic vehicle maintenance and first‑aid, so you can add new skills to your resume.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing traffic at busy intersections during peak hours.
- Setting up and maintaining traffic signals and signage.
- Responding to accidents or road blockages and coordinating with local police.
- Keeping a log of incidents and reporting them to the office.
- Assisting tourists and local vendors in navigating the market area.

You will be expected to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your shift, wear the safety gear at all times and keep the equipment in good condition.
