What a typical day looks like
- Morning briefing with the security team – we discuss the day’s schedule, any special events, and review the latest CCTV footage.
- Patrol of the premises – walking the perimeter, checking access points, and ensuring all locks are secure.
- Responding to incidents – from a minor break‑in to a medical emergency, you’ll be the first line of response.
- End‑of‑day report – documenting any incidents, maintenance issues, and updating the incident log.

Responsibilities (real examples)
- Monitor live feeds from 8 CCTV cameras and flag any suspicious activity.
- Conduct a daily walk‑through of the 5‑acre campus, checking that all gates are latched.
- Coordinate with local police during a community event, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
- Handle a small fire incident by activating the fire alarm and guiding occupants to the exit.
- Prepare a weekly safety audit report for the management team.
Tools & equipment
You’ll work with a standard security kit: a radio, a mobile phone, a flashlight, and a basic first‑aid kit. For CCTV, we use a 4K system with remote access via a secure app. You’ll also use a handheld scanner to check IDs during entry.
Environment
Our office is a modest 2‑story building in the heart of Kakinada. The ground floor houses the reception and a small training room. The second floor is the control room where you’ll monitor cameras and manage alarms. The work is a mix of indoor monitoring and outdoor patrols, so you’ll need comfortable shoes and a good pair of sunglasses for sunny days.
