Greenfield Survey Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a small but growing company based in the heart of Kailashahar, Tripura. We specialise in land and resource mapping for local farmers, NGOs and government projects. We are looking for a Survey Assistant to join our field team and help us gather accurate data that will help communities plan better.
Day‑to‑day life at Greenfield is simple and purposeful. Every morning we meet at our little office on Main Street, grab a cup of tea, and head out to the villages. The job involves walking through fields, marking boundaries, taking GPS coordinates, and filling out data sheets. We use handheld GPS units, tablets with GIS apps, and a small laptop for data entry back at the office. The work is a mix of fieldwork and desk work – you’ll spend about 60% of your time outdoors and 40% in the office.

Responsibilities explained with real examples:
- Collect GPS coordinates for 10–15 plots each day, ensuring accuracy within 5 metres.
- Use a handheld GPS device (Garmin eTrex) to mark boundary points and record elevation data.
- Fill out field notebooks and later digitise the data into our GIS database.
- Assist senior surveyors in preparing maps for local farmers, showing water sources and soil types.
- Help maintain equipment – clean GPS units, charge batteries, and keep the field kit organised.
Tools and equipment you will use:
- Handheld GPS unit (Garmin eTrex or similar)
- Tablet with GIS app (QGIS Mobile)
- Notebook and pen for field notes
- Basic safety gear – boots, hat, sunscreen
- Laptop for data entry and report generation
The work environment is a mix of field and office. The office is a small, airy building with a few desks, a shared kitchen and a meeting room. The field is the real heart of the job – you’ll walk through paddy fields, tea gardens and small villages, interacting with farmers and local leaders. The weather can be hot and humid, so we keep a bottle of water handy and schedule breaks during the hottest part of the day.
We offer a competitive salary of ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month, depending on experience. We also provide a monthly transport allowance, a small health insurance package and a performance bonus after the first year. The job is full‑time, 5 days a week, with flexible start times to accommodate early morning fieldwork.
