What a typical day looks like
- Arrive at the assigned crossing point before the first bus arrives.
- Set up traffic cones and place a reflective vest on yourself.
- Use the whistle to signal drivers and pedestrians.
- Keep the area clean and free of litter.
- Report any accidents or road hazards to the supervisor.
We work in a field environment – the streets of Jagdalpur. You will spend most of your time outdoors, standing at busy intersections during peak hours. The weather can be hot, but we provide a shaded area and a small fan for breaks.

Opportunities for growth
After 6 months of good performance, you can be promoted to Senior Crossing Guard. From there, you may move into a Shift Supervisor role, where you will manage a small team of guards and coordinate with the traffic department. We also offer occasional training on first aid and traffic management.
Responsibilities explained with real examples
For instance, on a rainy day, you might notice a pothole that could cause a vehicle to skid. You will immediately flag it to the supervisor and place a warning sign. Or, if a child is trying to cross the road without a guard, you will gently guide them to the crosswalk and ensure they wait for the green signal.

Environment
Work is outdoors, on the streets of Jagdalpur. You will be exposed to traffic, pedestrians, and occasional weather changes. We provide a small shelter for breaks and a water cooler.
