What a typical day looks like
Our day starts at 7:30 AM with a quick morning huddle. We review the day’s tasks: cutting boards for a new kitchen cabinet, sanding floor panels, or helping with a small repair. Most of the work is in our little workshop on Main Road – a clean, organized space with wood shavings on the floor and the scent of fresh timber. Hours are flexible: we usually finish by 4 PM, but weekends come in when a big order goes live. We value punctuality, but we also know a good laugh can get the job done faster.
Team Culture & Growth
Our crew is small enough that everyone knows each other’s names. We work like a family – sharing tasks, helping each other with difficult cuts, and celebrating when a client smiles at a finished piece. Every month we hold a short workshop where someone shares a trick or a new tool. If you show enthusiasm, there’s real opportunity to learn to read a blueprint and eventually work as a lead carpenter. We also give you chances to take a short 2‑day course in carpentry safety online, free of charge.
What you’ll do
• Cut and shape wood: Using handsaws, miter saws and a portable router, you will follow simple measurements taken by the senior carpenter.
• Sand and finish surfaces: You’ll sand rough edges with a palm sander, apply a light coat of primer or paint, and make sure every piece is smooth.
• Assist with assembly: Help mount frames, join panel pieces, and secure screws with a screwdriver or drill. You’ll be there when the final cabinet is put together and put on site.
• Keep the shop clean: Vacuum the sawdust after use, wipe down the benches, and make sure all tools are in their proper place.
We never ask a helper to read a technical plan on the first day – we start with simple tasks and expand as you learn. By the end of a month, you’ll be able to anticipate a senior’s moves and catch a small error before it becomes a big one.
Tools & Equipment
• Measuring tape, speed square, and combination square
• 7‑inch handsaw, miter saw, jigsaw, and a pocket router
• Corded drill, screwdriver set, nail gun (basic/wood version)
• Sandpaper (80, 120, 220 grit) and a portable sander
• Paintbrushes, rollers, and a small bucket of primer
All tools are provided by the company. We also offer a small personal protective gear kit – safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection.
Salary & Benefits
You’ll receive a monthly wage between ₹15,000 and ₹25,000, paid at the end of each month. On top of that, you get a casual Friday – you can wear comfortable clothes. We also give you paid lunch once a month to try our local food stall outside the shop.
