We are a family‑run farming cooperative based in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and are looking for a few enthusiastic temporary workers for the next harvest season. If you like fresh air, easy tasks, and a few days of wages, this job could be perfect for you.
What We Do, Day–to–Day
Our farm covers about 80 acres of wheat, bajra, and onion fields. Tasks are simple: seed sowing, weeding, and harvesting. We work from sunrise to sunset, and everyone pitches in together. The team is small – 8–10 workers – and everyone helps each other. You’ll learn how to use trimmers, seed drills, and small hand‑harvesters, but no prior experience is needed. We provide the tools and a safe work space.
Team Culture and Growth
We treat everyone like family. We keep a daily lunch together in the shared kitchen and chat about the day after work. Your input on how to improve field layout is welcomed, so you’ll get a chance to grow with us. Even though this is a temporary position, we often keep good workers back for the next season or may refer you for a long‑term job at local agri‑suppliers. Women and men of all ages are encouraged to join.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare the fields – clear weeds, plow soil, and sow seeds according to the plan sheet.
- Assist the head farmer in operating a seed drill and a small tractor when available.
- Weed the crops daily to prevent pests and ensure a clean harvest.
- When the crop is ready, pick and pack onions or wheat in sacks; help load them onto the local transport team.
- Maintain all tools after use – clean, oil, and store in the shed.
- Keep a diary of daily work, noting any issues with pests or equipment.
We give clear step‑by‑step instructions and do a quick morning briefing so everyone knows the plan for the day. You’ll also have a few hours each day to rest and take a lunch break in the shade.
Tools & Equipment
We use:
- Hand‑held hoe & trowel for weeding.
- Electric seed drill and a 20‑hp tractor for major sowing.
- Refrigerated storage for onions to keep quality high.
- Standard safety gear – gloves, sun‑hat, and sturdy shoes.
Working Ground
The job is field‑based; you’ll be working outdoors in the open land of the farm around Ahmednagar. The climate can be hot in the mornings, so we provide ample shade and water. The environment is calm, with beautiful green fields and a friendly scent of fresh earth in the evenings.
